Patna: The state government is to bring new textile, leather, logistics and export-oriented policies soon to provide opportunity to the entrepreneurs in the UAE and other Gulf countries to invest in Bihar, Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi said in Dubai on Friday.
Speaking at an ‘Ease of Doing Business’ meet organised by the Dubai chapter of Bihar Foundation, Modi highlighted the new ethanol policy and advantages Bihar offers to the entrepreneurs for investing in the state. “There has been a significant improvement in the law & order situation, transportation and infrastructure, which make Bihar investment-friendly,” he said and urged the NRIs to come and experience the new Bihar and make investment to generate employment opportunities for youths.
Modi said the members of Bihar Foundation made suggestions to hone the industry-based skills of thousands of Bihar labourers visiting Dubai for work so that they could get better wages. They also demanded action against some recruitment agencies who cheat the poor Bihar workers of lakhs of rupees by providing visit visas in the name of providing them jobs.
More than 50 NRI representatives of leading companies attended the meet. Led by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Sushil Modi is part of a parliamentary delegation to the UAE.
