Bihar’s minister of industries Shyam Rajak on Friday wrote letters to 24 companies, including Hindustan Foods Ltd and Nestle India Ltd, requesting them to invest in the state
In his letter, Rajak highlighted the state as a vast domestic market where most of the manufactured items come from outside and hence incur a huge arbitrage in transport costs.
Referring to Bihar as a “central location in eastern India”, Rajak said the state’s location midway between UP and Bengal makes it suitable as a manufacturing base for markets in eastern UP, Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha and the Northeast.
He has also pointed out that there is proper availability of power in both – rural and urban areas – of the state.
